I have started a new literary project. It is called The Southway Chronicles and it's a ghost/mystery story told from the perspective of four people from different times, through letters and notes written by them. It is set anywhere between the years of 1940 and 2013.

I wanted to do something different, something small that could still be classed as writing but wasn't as labour intensive as my (in progress) novel. It seems to have worked because writing the first three entries was pure joy; finally I can learn to love my craft!

sadly I had some trouble uploading my entries to DA because they take the format of images. The very nature of the chronicles means that they require some very specific formatting. Sadly DA doesn't allow images in the literature category so I've had to settle for uploading plain text here.

BUT never fear! For you can view the chronicles as they were originally intended at their very own blog: southwaychronicles.blogspot.co… I hope to add new entries a couple of times a week, to keep a nice steady drip feed going.

Let me know what you think.

So I finally took the plunge and bought myself a bonafide tablet. It's a Wacom Bamboo and although it's the cheapest most budget version I'm totally chuffed to actually own a Wacom!

All I can say about it is this: If there is drawing in heaven, it feels like using a Wacom!

Damn this thing is smooth. I'm having a ball simply using it as an alternative to a mouse for general navigation. I'm a little shaky with it in Photoshop at the moment; it takes some getting used to drawing on one surface and seeing the work appear elsewhere.

I'm hoping to work on some shading techniques too so hopefully I'll have something more substantial to upload in a few days.

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 3DS handheld games console, mostly so I could play Star Fox 64 3D (Which is awesome btw!) and as you have probably heard, the game line up for it SUCKS. So during my agonising wait for actual 3DS games, I have been playing some old DS games for the first time. During my foray with the console's previous generation titles I discovered a game called Solatorobo: Red the hunter.

All I can say is: CHECK IT OUT NOW! ---> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solatoro…

Solatorobo is all about a world of floating islands inhabited by dog and cat people who fight with mechs. My description does it no justice. It's a beautifully realised game and truly a unique experience. There's just so much to do in the game, fighting, fishing, collecting photos, flying, racing... oh and saving the world too! Plus it's filled with interesting characters, spectacular environments and has an amazing soundtrack.

It was released in Europe a couple of months ago and will be on shelves in America by the end of this month. Those lucky enough to buy the game on its initial print run in the US will also get a soundtrack CD (lucky people, Europe gets NOTHING!) I recently aquired the Japanese collectors edition simply to obtain the awesome OST CD and art book. Just such a shame I can't read Japanese. Luckily enough the charm and beauty of Solatorobo is universal.

BUY IT NOW.
